This tutorial is a revised version of a proof-of-concept I created for a client few months ago. I wanted to showcase how I manage costs, improve performance, and implement best practices in an AWS environment. To do this, I created a real-time AWS cost monitoring solution to track spending, send alerts, and visualize trends using AWS Budgets, SNS, Lambda, and QuickSight.
My goal was to create a system that monitors your cloud cost, visualizes trends from previous months, and sends alerts directly to your phone or email when your spending exceeds a threshold.
